Number 8 Cheltenham

A very warm welcome to our Victorian home in central Cheltenham. We have completely refurbished the house to provide three individually designed rooms each with their own colour scheme and character. Two are en-suite and one has a private luxury bathroom. We provide free parking and are just 10 minutes walk from Cheltenham’s bars, restaurants and shops and next door to the College, Hospital and Lido. Please note that we cannot accept children under 10 years old.

Covid safety

We want our guests to be able to have confidence when staying with us. What’s more, as it’s our home, we have a vested interest in making sure it is as safe as we can make it.

Covid assurance

We have completed the Quality in Tourism Covid Risk Assessment and been accredited by them as safe, clean and legal. We have also completed the Visit England ‘We’re Good To Go’ Industry Standard safety assessment based on the robust procedures we have put in place to keep us all as safe as possible. Below are a sample of these:

General

We ask that any guest with symptoms which could possibly be Covid, not to check in. If either of the owners has symptoms which could possibly be Covid, we will immediately close the bed and breakfast until the test results are known. Full refunds or alternative bookings will be arranged. To better facilitate social distancing, until at least the end of October 2020, we are only offering 2 of our guest bedrooms. Hand sanitiser is available in the hall on arrival. Guests are requested to sanitise their hands when they come into the house. All door handles are disinfected daily - front door, bedrooms, bathrooms and dining rooms. Surfaces which other guests may also touch, such as the stairs bannister, are disinfected each day. Hall floors are washed and disinfected daily.

Breakfast

We have positioned the breakfast tables 2 meters apart. We will also let you know the time the other guest is having breakfast should you wish to have the dining room to yourself. We will serve breakfasts wearing protective masks to reduce the risk of cross-contamination on your food. Breakfast is now ordered by e-form for your convenience and to reduce the risk of cross-contamination. All breakfast items are individually served at your table to reduce risk of cross contamination. Tables, chairs, crockery and any table linen are disinfected each day.

Guest rooms and bathrooms

The Guest Information Pack is now on-line to prevent cross contamination. Between guests, we will deep-clean the bedrooms with all linen and towels being professionally laundered. Soft furnishings such as cushions and bed throws will be either quarantined for 72 hours or laundered depending on the time between guests. All bedroom surfaces will be cleaned with anti-bacterial as will the hair dryer, TV remote control, bedside lights, kettle, bedstead, wardrobe handles, window latches and blinds. Bathroom facilities will also be deep cleaned. Bathroom furniture, soap dispensers, floors and other surfaces will be cleaned with anti-bacterial cleaner as will all other surfaces, switches and door and window handles. Separate cleaning materials, such as j-clothes, are used for each room. Please note, as Government’s guidelines change we will adapt our procedures accordingly. The above is correct at 1 August 2020 but may change.
